John has been in the flower business for over 25 years. He started out in a wholesale potted plant greenhouse where he grew flowering and green plants for indoors and out.

John soon joined the sales force at a wholesale cut flower company and learned a lot about cut flowers. He decided to try his hand at design and ran a retail flower shop for many years where he did all kinds of arrangements from basic to very elaborate. John was a regular participant in the Art and Flowers event at the Minneapolis Museum of Art. Scott Barriball recognized JR's talent and offered him the position of running the flower operation at the Farmers Market Annex where he is working today. Market Flowers continues to flourish under his care.

Diane Barriball began working in the floral industry in 1987. She and her husband Scott have owned and operated flower shops in the Twin Cities area for over 20 years.

Diane is a 1980 graduate of The College of St. Catherine and attributes her ownership and management success to the knowledge gained while earning a degree in education and the 5 years of teaching that followed. She credits her creativity, attention to detail and pursuit of excellence to her Mother. Diane enjoys working with flowers and the many aspects of the industry bring her much joy and fulfillment.

Scott began his career in the floral business in 1985 and, together with his wife Diane, formed a chain of flowers shops called Diversified Floral.

The chain of shops, which employed over 40 full and part time employees and had sales over 2M, was sold in 1999. Scott then began a successful wholesale floral company with sales over 5M and 50 plus employees. In 1998 Scott purchased the Minneapolis Farmers Market Annex where he continues to sell and market fresh flowers.

He and his wife Diane are the proud parents of their two children Tracy and Jay. They live in Prior Lake, Minnesota.
